" In designing my Greenwich Village apartment, I wanted it to feel airy with many pops of color and mixed textiles. I knew I didn’t want it to look like anywhere I’d lived before let alone been before. I like to mix and match. Some of my favorite pieces come from a lithograph store in Paris while others are family heirlooms. I chose to combine curtains cut from Aztec fabric in the same setting as a custom-made bench from St. Barth’s. I also display a pair of yellow ceramic lamps from Spain, a gift from my mother which are reminiscent of statues and fit seamlessly with an antique coffee table. When people enter my apartment, I want them to feel like they’ve arrived at an off-the-beaten-path shop in a new city and want to buy everything. "
